Tally Profile: allthecolors’s Delegate Profile
Introduction
I am a longtime DAO participant initially attracted to Compound for its early technical achievement of a novel mechanism for permissionless yield on stablecoins. I am currently a domain allocator for the Compound Grants Program, hosted by Questbook, for the protocol ideas, dapps, and developer tools domain. I have been an active governance participant since 2021 and have contributed to protocol analytics (early user retroactive analysis) and integrations (Compound integration for Aztec Connect).
As a DAO participant unbeholden to a set of third-party motives (e.g. from an employer in the web3 or financial space), I consider my role as a delegate to include representation of the many unaffiliated individuals who use Compound as a fair market-based source of yield on savings and/or of digital asset-backed loans.
Core Values
-
Safety: The safety of lenders’ assets is sacrosanct; my voting record will show that I prioritize conservative risk management for the benefit of lenders as a north star in my assessment of proposals. Delegators can expect me to continue to support proposals that protect lenders and to oppose proposals that flirt with higher risk, especially on high-TVL stablecoin Comets.
-
Engagement: I take pride in sustaining one of the highest governance participation rates among delegates in the DAO and seek to stay on top of evolving DAO priorities through the Forum, Discord, and conversations with grantees and other DAO participants.
-
Cooperation: I believe that Compound’s best days are ahead of it and that we move in that direction through internal cooperation and by broadening access and engagement. Several of the other leading lending protocols are stewarded by clout chasers who command attention through shock value on socials; in this environment, Compound’s cooperative, principled, risk-averse character is what will let this community and the protocol thrive through good times and bad.
Conflict of Interest Disclosures
Among active delegates, I have one of the lowest risks of encountering a conflict of interest. Outside of the Compound Grants Program, I am not employed in web3 or the financial industry, and I am not an active delegate in other DAOs. I hold a modest number of other governance tokens from airdrops, e.g. ENS, but I delegate these tokens to active delegates in those DAOs. I am a computational physical scientist and a university professor, roles which intersect negligibly with my participation as a Compound delegate. I have previously consulted with Questbook on platform growth, but I am no longer serving them in that role.
