Streaming Solution for WOOF!

With the deprecation of the Aera V2 vault and no alternative available, WOOF! has built a custom streaming contract that allows the Compound DAO to maintain full control over COMP distribution while ensuring transparent and accurate vendor payments.

The Streamer is a smart contract that will be funded with COMP tokens directly from the Comptroller upon successful execution of the WOOF! proposal.

Specifications

  • Allocation: 53,011 COMP
  • Streaming Duration: 1 year (continuously, second-by-second distribution)
  • Distribution Currency: COMP, valued in USDC via Chainlink’s COMP/USDC price feed at the moment of claim
  • Slippage Tolerance: 0.05% applied at the time of claim
  • Claim Safeguard: To protect the DAO from unfavorable claim conditions, any address may execute a claim on behalf of the stream if the last claim occurred more than 7 days ago.
  • Claiming Cap: 2,000,000 USDC

After a year of streaming:

  • A 10-day grace period is available for WOOF! to claim any remaining tokens.
  • After that, anyone may return unclaimed COMP back to the Comptroller.
  • The stream can also be canceled early via an on-chain governance vote.

If the DAO chooses to proceed with an improved vendor payment solution—such as Aera V3—WOOF! is fully aligned and will push on-chain proposal to transfer the funds to the newly defined system.

Requested COMP Allocation
To ensure sufficient funds and price buffer, WOOF! proposes the following:

  • Base amount (based on $41.50): 48,192 COMP
  • +10% buffer: 4,819 COMP

Total Requested: 53,011 COMP

This 10% buffer is a safeguard against potential COMP price drops during the streaming period.

On-Chain Proposal Actions
The governance proposal will include the following actions:

  1. Transfer 53,011 COMP to the Streamer contract
  2. Initialize the Streamer contract
  3. Grant 50,000 COMP to Timelock for Franchiser contract usage
  4. Approve 50,000 COMP for Franchiser contract
  5. Delegate 50,000 COMP from the Franchiser contract to WOOF!

Audit
The Streamer contract is currently under audit by OpenZeppelin and is expected to be fully reviewed and finalized prior to proposal submission.

Timeline
The on-chain proposal is scheduled to be published on Monday, May 19th.
