Compound Governance Working Group (GWG) MetaGov Thread

Compound Governance Working Group (GWG) will post MetaGov updates and rationale here.

Background: In the previous CGWG renewal, it was noted that there may be instances where it is in the DAO’s best interest to take a more active role in the governance of other chains or projects. Voting power may also enable Compound DAO to exert influence in attaining grants. To start, we have started voting on the different chains in which the DAO has received prior grants or token allocations. Delegations are directed to the address compound-dao.eth. We will maintain this thread as a communication of our voting rationale.

Current Chains: Optimism, Scroll

Proposal Name Protocol Vote Rationale
Proposal: Brazil Local Node Scroll Abstain We do understand that such local nodes / communities might be beneficial but at the same time, believe this should only proceed if the community strongly believes in it and thus we vote in abstain
Kenya Scroll Local Node Founder Program Scroll Abstain The same as Brazil Local Node rationale
Mexico Mobile Scroll Node: A Founder-Focused Onboarding and Support Program Scroll Abstain The same as Brazil Local Node rationale
Proposal: Gov Contribution Recognition - Retro & Working Group Scroll No While we understand the need for the program, we don’t necessarily think creating a working group itself is necessary. But we do see the metric for rewarding for Gov contribution itself
Proposal: Ecosystem Growth Council Formation Scroll Yes We believe in setting up a group where both DAO and Foundation members to drive growth for Scroll DAO
Proposal Title: Votable Supply Adjustment - Auto-Abstaining Wallet Scroll Yes Considering that the quorum is an issue for Scroll DAO and often the issue is not of enough support and against votes, we believe it’s fair to have this as a way to ensure if the governance is in strongly support of the proposal, it’s more likely to pass
Scroll DAO Delegate Accelerator Proposal Scroll Yes We are supportive of initiaves to have more diverse and experienced governance participants in Scroll DAO
Euclid Upgrade Scroll Yes Supportive of protocol upgrades for better security and uses

Is this a wrong-forum post? Doesn’t appear to be connected to anything I’m aware of happening in Compound.

My thoughts exactly I have no clue what they are talking about.

Compound received a Scroll airdrop of around 70k SCR tokens late last year, as seen here. The CGWG has been voting on Scroll DAO proposals, representing Compound DAO in the Scroll ecosystem as it becomes more active. $OP from outstanding grants on the Optimism side have also been delegated to the CGWG address—the OP voting rationales will be posted shortly. This program is similar, for instance, to Aave’s APE initiative. If these ecosystems in the future run incentive campaigns, for example, we’ll be able to represent Compound in those DAOs.
