This post is to advise the New Market community that DeFiSafety has completed an automation for New Market posts. You could start using this automation by simply adding the link to the comp.xyz home page as you have for Grants; “apply for a grant from Compound”.
Our automated process is better for the community and better for the applicant. You can try it here for yourself. It was developed with security grant funding from Compound, using the existing checklist and with the advice from the OZ team. Our team at DeFiSafety is ready to improve and adapt this automation as Compounds’ needs change. We made three example reports using the information for three recent New Market posts (Sky, rEth and cmEth). Note, the reports have lots of blank sections because the applicants didn’t use the checklist and only included a fraction of the requested data.
Our automation is better for the community for several reasons. First, it adds 10 automated checks on the token code (delegate calls, deny list, math protection and more). There is a “red flag” section at the top that highlights areas of concern from the analysis. Next, the question format for filling out the form will pull more complete information from the applicants, improving the quality of future applications. Finally, the fixed format of the output report will make finding information and seeing what is left out much easier for the community when they read the applications.
The automation is easier for the applicant because they don’t need to try to find the checklist and manually go through it. They are guided through all the information they must supply. The automation also makes their job easier and faster. The output is a markdown file that is ready to paste into the forum. The applicant still has the flexibility to edit the file in order to add additional information or formatting.
DeFiSafety wants to continue improving on this baseline. We can add more chains (we are at 6 now) as Comet expands. We want to incorporate the token analytics that DoDAO did into our report so that all the information is in one place. We can change the output report format. We can change the questions, and we can improve the automation.
Let us know your thoughts. Thanks for your time. If the community likes this, who would implement the change in the forum header?
