Introduction

Avantgarde is a crypto-native asset management firm that has been building in DeFi since 2016, applying institutional discipline on-chain to deliver sustainable, risk-adjusted returns at the digital asset frontier. With decades of tier-1 TradFi experience and as co-founders of asset management protocol Enzyme, we blend rigorous risk-management and capital-markets expertise with deep, hands-on knowledge of DeFi protocols and infrastructure to serve as a trusted strategic partner within the ecosystem.

We are proud to support industry-leading crypto organisations and protocols with curated vault strategies, bespoke treasury management and active DAO governance; including Uniswap, Arbitrum, Morpho, Nexus Mutual, Compound, Gitcoin, and others.

Motivation

As early DeFi builders, we’ve been involved in DAO governance for many years — including in other DAOs like Uniswap, Paraswap/Velora, Safe, and Rootstock — while contributing to the Compound DAO as a delegate since 2022. Today, we have one of the best delegate and voting scores as per the Compound Delegate Analytics Dashboard, and have recently contributed with treasury management related proposals A Growth-Earmarked Treasury Strategy for Compound & Extension of the COMP Yield Strategy. We’re excited about the new phase that Compound finds itself in, and stand fully behind the Compound Foundation in its mission to bring success to Compound and look forward to collaboratively tackling the challenge ahead together with the rest of the delegates.

Voting Philosophy & Core Principles

Avantgarde’s core vision and mission is all about delivering the ultimate crypto and asset management experience through innovative products and services rooted in transparency, simplicity, and accessibility. By bringing a wealth of financial and builders expertise across both TradFi and DeFi, we support DAOs in key areas such as capital allocation, vault curation, treasury management, liquidity provision, and ecosystem growth.

Our governance contributions are shaped by a few key values:

Decentralization: At its core, crypto is about distributing control back to the community. We’re committed to supporting initiatives that stay true to this mission.

Transparency: We value clear communication alongside honest and straightforward processes, ensuring everyone understands what’s happening and why, which helps align efforts toward shared goals.

Accessibility: Participation shouldn’t be limited to those with technical knowledge or insider experience. We strive to make governance, funding structures, and community involvement as approachable and understandable as possible for everyone.

Accountability: A healthy DAO requires transparency and follow-through. We’ll push for initiatives to include well-defined goals, progress checkpoints, and clear reporting structures to make sure actions align with commitments.

Growth: The crypto industry moves at an incredible pace. To achieve long-term success, DAOs need both ambition and adaptability; to take calculated risks and pursue innovation. Our priority is to remain open to new opportunities, empower builders, and ensure the DAO can scale effectively in a competitive environment by supporting thoughtful, sustainable growth strategies

Conflict of Interest Disclosures

Avantgarde is a vault curator on Morpho (though not an active delegate), and is actively contributing and working with a number of other chains and protocols across the wider crypto ecosystem (though no other that can be said to act in competition with Compound). We will look to leverage our network and experience from these ecosystems, and will diligently disclose any conflicts of interest should any such situation arise. Should a conflict of interest arise, our general rule is to abstain from voting on proposals where we stand to directly benefit. If in doubt, we will disclose the case in question and consult the community for advice.

Your track record with Enzyme and the range of DAO engagements (Uniswap, Arbitrum, Safe, etc.) speaks to deep operational and governance experience, which is exactly what protocols like Compound need as they mature into this next phase.
