GM Compound Community,
Compound has officially entered a new era. With the Compound Foundation now fully operational, we finally have the strategic backbone needed to drive execution, coordinate ecosystem growth, and reclaim our position as the leading global lending protocol. The “bias for action” we called for in May 2025 is becoming a reality.
However, as we push for growth, we cannot forget the lessons of our recent past.
Last year’s governance attack - where a single entity attempted to capture ~$24M of our treasury through sheer voting weight was a wake-up call. That incident highlighted a critical vulnerability: apathy. When delegates are inactive or unmonitored, the protocol becomes a target.
To ensure the Foundation succeeds and to prevent history from repeating itself, the DAO needs a vigilant, active, and highly accountable layer of delegates.
To empower every COMP holder to monitor this, we have built and are launching the Compound Delegate Dashboard as a public good for the community.
Our goal is simple: to provide a clear, data-driven view of our delegates’ activities. This tool is built on the principle of “don’t trust, verify,” enabling the community to distinguish between delegates who are actively securing the protocol and those who are asleep at the wheel.

This thread will serve as:
-
A hub for updates and new features.
-
A space for community feedback to help us refine this vital tool.
-
Where we can work together to define what makes a high-quality Compound delegate in this post-Foundation era.
Dashboard Overview
The dashboard provides delegate-centric insights to make Compound governance more accessible and transparent, reinforcing the accountability of those entrusted with voting power over the protocol and its treasury.
Key Features
- Delegate Tracking
Gain detailed insights into the role of delegates within governance, including:
-
Delegate Name: Displays the name or ENS of the delegate.
-
Delegated Token (% Voting Power): This represents the percentage of total votable tokens that have been delegated to a specific delegate.
-
Delegators: The number of unique addresses delegating to this representative.
-
Forum Score: This score is designed to provide a quantifiable measure of a delegate’s activity and engagement in DAO governance discussions.
-
Snapshot Vote: This represents the participation rate over the first proposal the delegate started voting on Snapshot proposal.
-
Onchain Vote: This represents the participation rate over the first proposal the delegate started voting on Onchain proposal.
-
Most Recent Onchain Votes: Shows the latest 5 onchain proposals voted/not voted/not member by the delegate.
-
Most Recent Snapshot Votes: Shows the latest 5 snapshot proposals voted/not voted/not member by the delegate.
-
Status:
-
Active: A delegate actively engaged in voting. They’ve either voted on over 50% of the proposals since their first vote or participated in the latest 5 proposals.
-
Inactive: A delegate with limited voting activities, participating in less than 50% of the proposals since their first vote.
-
Ghost: A delegate who, despite receiving delegation, has not exercised their voting power.

What’s Next
The dashboard today is just a starting point. To make it truly useful for the next chapter of Compound DAO, we need your help to shape its future. Here are two key areas where we’d love your input:
1. Delegate Score
A meaningful Delegate Score should reflect our collective values. What does a great Compound delegate look like to you? Here are our initial ideas for metrics to start the conversation:
| Metric | Definition | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Voting Participation Score | Percentage of Governor Bravo proposals voted on since the delegate’s first eligible proposal. | Ensures delegates show up to secure the protocol against malicious proposals and approve vital updates. |
| Voting Impact Score | Evaluates how often a delegate’s vote aligns with the final passing outcome, adjusted by voting power. | Highlights delegates who effectively contribute to building consensus on contentious issues. |
| Voting Timeliness Score | Tracks how early in the voting window a delegate casts their vote. | Encourages proactive participation, giving the community time to react to shifts in voting weight before the window closes. |
| Rationale Submission Score | Frequency of providing explanations for votes, both onchain and in forum discussions. | Promotes integrity, allowing the community to understand the reasoning behind complex decisions like Risk Parameter updates or Treasury transfers. |
| Forum Score | Quantifies offchain engagement (posts, replies, proposal initiations). | Recognizes the vital work of debating “soft” governance issues before they ever reach on-chain code. |
| Number of Votes Cast | Simple count of proposals voted on, adjusted for activity windows. | Offers a baseline indicator of a delegate’s overall activity level. |
2. Activity Status Definitions
Are our current definitions for Active, Inactive, and Ghost fair? Given the new implementation of Optimistic governance for Market Parameter Updates, should the threshold for “Active” be higher or lower?
How You Can Help
This is a community tool, and your input is what will make it truly valuable for Compound DAO. We’d love for you to get involved by:
