Introduction

I’m Michael Lewellen (mikelewellen.eth), a longtime member of the Compound community with a background in smart contract security and governance. I previously led Compound Security as OpenZeppelin’s Security Advisor and now actively advise the Compound Foundation, supporting initiatives like the Compound Security RFP.

My goal as a delegate is to strengthen Compound’s governance and protocol security through informed, transparent decision-making. I’ve spent years helping DAOs navigate security and upgrade processes safely, and I’m passionate about ensuring Compound continues to set the standard for trust, transparency, and resilience in DeFi governance.

Core Values

  • Security-First Governance: Decisions should protect the protocol’s integrity while enabling responsible innovation.

  • Transparency & Accountability: Delegates should communicate clearly about their reasoning and votes.

  • Community Collaboration: Progress in governance comes from open dialogue and shared responsibility among contributors.

Representation / Conflicts of Interest

I currently advise the Compound Foundation, which has their own voting profile. However, I participate in Compound forum discussions as an independent delegate and do not represent Foundation or any other organization in this capacity.

When governance topics intersect with my professional work, I will disclose potential conflicts of interest and recuse myself from votes where appropriate to ensure impartiality and maintain community trust.
